How to make your Apple 'n' Cinna'men
  1. Turn the oven on and set the temperature to 175°C.
  2. Sieve the flour, salt and cinnamon together into the big mixing bowl.
  3. Add the sugar and stir well.
  4. Peel and grate the apple. Ask a grown up for help with this!
  5. Melt the butter and golden syrup together in the small bowl. This takes about 1 minute in the microwave or you could melt them in a saucepan. When you’ve done this, have a smell. It smells deliciousl.
  6. Tip the melted ingredients and the grated apple into the flour mixture and mix it together really well with a wooden spoon until it makes a dough.
  7. If necessary, add a drop of milk to make the dough softer or add a bit more flour to make it less sticky.
  8. Sprinkle some flour onto the work surface then roll out the dough until is about 4 or 5mm thick.
  9. Cut out the men with your cutter and put them on the non-stick tray.
  10. Make the left over dough into a ball and roll out again. Keep doing this until the dough is all gone.
  11. Put the men in the oven to cook for 15 minutes.
  12. Take them out and let them cool down for 5 minutes.
  13. If you want to, you can decorate with icing and sweets.
